Before sending an item to the landfill, please considering donating clothing, household goods and other items that remain in usable condition.

Many organizations and individuals reuse, resell or refurbish items that others consider to be trash or junk. Some provide dropoff locations, while others offer pickup services.

Creative Reuse

• Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse: Accepts various materials to be reused for arts, crafts and other creative purposes.
• Construction Junction: Donate building materials and various used and new items.
• Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) Reuse Fest: One-day annual drop-off event that accepts materials such as bedding, clothing, furniture, kitchen items, pet supplies and more, diverting them from landfills to nonprofits.
