Township Road Study

In November 2015, engineers completed a comprehensive Roadway Maintenance Study (PDF) of all township-owned roads.

The analysis detailed the need for $32 million in road improvements and prioritized the work. In 2015, the township established a dedicated annual funding stream for road work of approximately $1 million a year.

Southern Beltway

More than four miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission's $800 million Southern Beltway is under construction in South Fayette Township.

Once the entire 13-mile project is complete in 2021, the highway will link with the existing 6-mile Findlay Connector to provide a direct link  between Interstate 79 and Pittsburgh International Airport.

The South Fayette portion of the project includes an interchange that will allow drivers to reach the Southern Beltway from Route 50 and connect to I-79 without paying a toll.
