Alpine Road is set to close on the east side of Route 50 beginning Thursday Oct. 1 and is expected to reopen Sunday, Oct. 18. The posted detour will direct drivers to use Cecil-Henderson Road and Hickory Grade Road to access Route 50.
The temporary closure is part of a $19 million Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) road improvement project. Work is expected to be done at the end of October.
